Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree* and three years of specialized experience** described below
OR
an associate degree* and five years of specialized experience** described below
OR
seven years of specialized work experience** described below.
*Degree must be awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.

**The specialized experience must have been where your duties involved work utilizing the following skills:

• Experience assisting with career guidance or employment services OR
• Experience as a project leader OR
• Experience providing trainings OR presentations to groups

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: The Project Coordinator’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and management of regional Trade Act marketing, partnership and program plans;
• Actively promote services (using a sales approach) available under the Trade Act to impacted workers and provide related technical assistance and guidance;
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with SUNY institutions in the region;
• Recommend most in-demand career certifications and short-term training programs;
• Advise and educate program service providers to help them understand program guidelines and protocols;
• Maintain a working knowledge of available training programs that lead to relevant training opportunities for priority and growing industries and occupations in the region and state;
• Facilitate re-employment services for trade-affected dislocated workers with a priority on training programs provided by the regional post-secondary institutions;
• Explain program processes and benefits; arrange for public presentations or coordinate workshops with affected worker groups, employers, post-secondary institutions, providers and other local partners;
• Attend and serve on various intra and interagency advisory and task forces addressing the interpretation of procedural and policy issues relating to workforce employment and training programs;
• Review, monitor, and evaluate Federal and State workforce employment and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, rules, regulations, and policies;
• Align career planning efforts with Labor Market Information and local sector strategies;
• Work with systems staff to develop and implement databases for the purpose of providing management reports and to facilitate the collection of data to be used to evaluate services and prepare reports.

Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evening and/or out-stationed assignments.
