Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Senior Budgeting Analyst, OR NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible to transfer to Budgeting Analyst Trainee 1 or Budgeting Analyst Trainee 2 under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The Bureau of Fiscal Management (BFM) oversees a broad scope of responsibilities including budget analysis, contract management, procurement, accounts payable, ethics reporting, travel, and payroll support functions. Duties of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following: assisting in the development of the agency’s annual budget request; monitoring payroll and non-payroll spending; reviewing requests for purchases to ensure proper authorization and available funding; processing various budget and purchasing transactions within the Statewide Financial System (SFS); confirming goods and services were received/rendered; and, creating fiscal reports and projections using data from SFS, PayServ and other sources.
Additional Comments Verbal/interpersonal skills; attention to detail, team player, eager to learn, ability to
multi-task and meet deadlines, ability to work independently and follow through on assignments, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with State systems such as SFS, LATS, NYSTEP and PayServ.
