Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G-21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of office administration experience. Command of administrative practices and procedures, data management methods, basic accounting practices and human resources practices. Strong writing and communication skills. Knowledge of issues related to the provision of services to people who use drugs. At least one-year of supervisory experience. Proficient in MS Office products.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator I will be responsible for all aspects of office administration and human resources functions which support the Office of Drug User Health (ODUH) in the AIDS Institute. This includes performing administrative duties to ensure coordination and implementation of ODUH project deliverables and collaboration with other departments and agencies.The incumbent will supervise and direct other administrative staff within the office and will provide oversight of staff hiring, onboarding, and training, developing and executing contracts, purchasing, linkage with Information Technology Services, Executive Deputy Clearance (EDC’s), Internet/Publication Request Forms (IPR’s) and other formal correspondence/documents, developing and providing written reports for leadership. Other related duties as assigned.
