Minimum Qualifications - Candidate must be reachable on the current Civil Service List for Program Aide OR;
- One-year permanent service as a Program Aide eligible for transfer OR;
- Must be eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed
comparable by the NYS Department of Civil Service to the title of Program Aide (Must be
within two salary grade of the targeted title. OR
- Eligible for provisional appointment*

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Office represents OPWDD on all matters related to personnel management including, but not limited to, classification, examination, recruitment/retention, succession planning, labor relations, performance evaluations, employee benefits, etc.
Under the supervision of higher-level staff, the Program Aide will be responsible for
several support functions within the Human Resources Management Office, but not limited to:
Labor relations; health benefits; worker’s compensation and leave administration; time
attendance



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Responsible for distributing of performance evaluations and probationary evaluations
forms to appropriate supervisors and maintain database of evaluation and probationary reports received in HR
? Assist Human Resources Specialist 1 to prepare Misconduct/Time and Attendance
Notice of Disciplines for service.
? Expedite requests from external government agencies (Justice Center/ OIIA); scheduling
interrogations and interviews
? Will be responsible for maintaining Administrative Leave Report
? Assist with processing of all leaves
? Sick Leave
? Workers compensation
? FMLA
? Assist Times Coordinator with Special Projects
? Assist with processing of Wage Verifications
? Front Office coverage as needed
