Duties Description The Office of Audit Services (OAS) is responsible for agency auditing, risk assessment, and internal controls activities. OAS is comprised of the Bureau of Internal Audit (BIA), Bureau of Compliance Management (BCM) and an Internal Control Unit (ICU).

The Auditor 1 is responsible for audit activities conducted and managed by BCM. BCM provides assurance, risk management, consulting and advisory audit services. The incumbent of this position will conduct audits and reviews of not-for-profit agencies to ensure compliance with applicable Medicaid billing and payment standards by laws, rules, regulations and administrative memorandum. The incumbent will also address issues identified by quantitative risk assessments and in response to issues raised by executive management, external control organizations and complaints received from outside stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
Under the general direction of the Auditor 2:
-Performs billing and claiming audits in accordance with the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) mandate.
-Performs audit program steps in accordance with the audit scope parameters. Advise the audit supervisor of the audit progress with particular attention to possible audit scope modification.
-Organize audit findings and results. Prepares and edits requests for information.
-Participate in development of bureau audit manuals or training programs.
-Enter audit findings and audit information in audit databases.
-Participate in special projects as directed.
