Minimum Qualifications Must be in title or on the Civil Service eligible list for this location to be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 in a designated title determined by the New York State Department of Civil Service.
Provisional Appointment:
Candidate must have a current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD,)
OR
Have a New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition AND have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours* of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD.
* If you are qualifying under #2, the additional 400 hours required is in addition to the 800 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD required for NYSED certification. On your application you must provide the name of the institution where you obtained the additional hours; the name of your supervisor; and your supervisor's qualifications.

Duties Description The Dietitian candidate will be responsible for the nutritional care of service recipients living in approximately 7 IRAs including: Autumn Lane, Bellamy, Nunda, Walnut, West Sparta, Derby and Dansville. They must be able to work independently, as well as within groups. Must posses excellent organizational, time management and communication skills, as well as willing to drive between multiple work locations. This position requires strong clinical skills in medical nutrition therapy. The selected dietitian will complete nutrition assessments using an Electronic Health Record system and develop nutrition prescriptions in accordance with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process; communicate with community health care providers, participate as part of the Interdisciplinary Program Planning Team; attend Quality of Life, Life Planning and Departmental Meetings; provide education and training to service recipients, family members, direct support staff and others as clinically appropriate. Conduct meal observations and provide technical support in maintaining food safety and sanitation in assigned homes. Assist in teaching New Employee Orientation Meal Management Training as scheduled. Other tasks as requested by supervisor.
