Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Business Systems Analyst 2 list or a current New York State Employee with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Business Systems Analyst 2, G-23, or in a title allocated to G-21 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Reporting to the Bureau Director, the Business Systems Analyst 2, G-23, works closely with OMIG program staff to define and develop requirements for modification and enhancements to OMIG’s existing systems and business processes. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Plan, prioritize, and identify the scope of system and/or process changes.
• Establish timetables for completion of projects.
• Function as a liaison between program areas and NYS Office of Information Technology Services.
• Research, gather, and evaluate system or business process requirements.
• Analyze current as-is system functionality and business processes.
• Write and review requirements for future updates.
• Communicate business process requirements to ITS, program staff, OMIG Executive, and any other stakeholders.
• Analyze the impact of proposed changes.
• Encourage stakeholders to resolve any potential issues prior to implementation.
• Perform and oversee user acceptance testing.
• Create and update system documentation and any pertinent training manuals.
• Provide direct supervision to Business System Analysts 1, G-18.
• Plan and assign work to subordinate staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and meet with staff regularly to provide feedback concerting work activities and performance.
