Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Business Systems Analyst 1 list or a current New York State Employee with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Business Systems Analyst 1, G-18, or in a title allocated to G-16 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible to transfer to Business Systems Analyst Trainee 1 or Business Systems Analyst Trainee 2 under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship.
Duties Description The Business Systems Analyst 1, G-18 works closely with the OMIG program staff to define and develop requirements for any modification or enhancement to OMIG’s proprietary systems and business processes. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Function as a liaison between program areas and NYS Office of Information Technology Services.
• Research, gather, and evaluate system or business process requirements.
• Analyze current as-is system functionality and business processes.
• Write and review requirements for future updates.
• Analyze the impact of proposed changes.
• Assist with user acceptance testing, collecting data and documenting results.
• Create and update system documentation and any pertinent training manuals.
Additional Comments Business Systems Analyst Trainee 1 position starts at $45,617 and is a two-year traineeship.
