Duties Description The New York State Office of Children and Families Services (OCFS) Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) is seeking a dedicated and committed professional to provide clinical oversight of residential and community-based rehabilitative and treatment programs for some of the most challenged youth and families in the state. The identified candidate will be responsible for the development and oversight of all mental health treatment and clinical program services in their assigned region as well as serving as the lead of a multi-disciplinary behavioral health services team.

Duties include:

Providing clinical leadership for their assigned region (which may include multiple residential and community programs) and supporting the clinical supervisory system within our agency.

Clinical supervision of the residential program clinical supervisors (Assistant Facility Director for Treatment) and community-based clinicians in their assigned region.

Responsible for the oversight of the provision of facility and community based clinical services.

Provide technical assistance and training to facilities and program staff to promote effective provision of behavioral health services and assist in the development of therapeutic services throughout our system.

Collaborate with other agencies to address both acute and long-term mental health needs of youth including: emergency psychiatric hospitalizations, transfers to long-term mental health care programs, referrals for youth with intellectual disabilities, and appropriate discharge/transition planning for youth leaving OCFS facility care.

Identify and develop training resources to meet program needs.

Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of clinical staff.

Additional Comments Background Investigation Requirements:

2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees.
3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
