Minimum Qualifications Current New York State Employee with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Management Specialist 1, G-18, or in a title allocated to G-16 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible to transfer to Management Specialist Trainee 1 or Management Specialist Trainee 2 under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
The position may also be filled at the trainee level by appointment of a candidate reachable on the PATT or PCO list. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship.
This position may be designated 55b/c and is subject to
verification of applicant eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; Excellent written and oral communication, grammar, and editing skills; Critical, independent thinking and analytical skills; Excellent reading comprehension; Able to work independently and in a team setting.
Duties Description This position will be in the Bureau of Quality Control and Enterprise Projects, Quality Assurance unit. This unit ensures all agency documentation and reporting are thorough, accurate, and consistent. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Work closely with the Management Specialist II in Quality Assurance with all projects and duties; review and assess current agency processes and procedures, particularly those related to reporting and tabulating agency statistics and data; assist with the creation, management, and publishing of required agency reports, including Annual Report, Quarterly Accountability Statement, and any other ad hoc reports required of the agency; compile, evaluate, and monitor pertinent agency statistics and data for use in required reports; assist with processing of vetting requests received by the Bureau; assist with the review of audit protocols for accuracy and consistency; as needed, assist the External Audit Unit and Project Management Office within the Bureau; participate in agency-wide data workgroups; and other projects and duties, as assigned.
Additional Comments Management Specialist Trainee 1 position starts at $45,617.
