Duties Description This position is in the DEC Emergency Management Unit. The incumbent will support agency emergency preparedness, response, and recovery functions.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Assist with developing agency emergency plans, protocols, and policies.
• Design and exercise regional and program emergency plans.
• Develop and track agency training programs.
• Liaise with international, federal, state, and local partners.
• Support disaster or emergency response efforts at incident command posts or emergency operation centers.
• Coordinate and provide logistical support for emergency response, training and exercises, planning meeting.
• Assist with agency post disaster or emergency recovery operations.
• Provide technical planning assistance to state and local government agencies in the development of disaster preparedness and emergency response plans.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
