Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two year technical school course.

Duties Description - Responsible for building cleaning, snow removal, vehicle fleet cleaning, maintenance and minor rehabilitation of NYS DEC facilities.
- Will be required to complete manual and semi skilled work in various DEC facilities. (Work assignments will include cleaning of toilet/ bathroom facilities, outhouses, mail and receiving/shipping dock duties, winter sidewalk upkeep, cleaning of vehicles, vehicle repair transportation, minor carpentry, roofing, painting, minor plumbing, equipment operation, chainsaw operation, maintaining roads, grounds and facilities, lifting garbage cans chest high, using rakes and shovels and various hand tools.)
- Will be required to operate skid steer, tractor plow truck and other machines; work outside in adverse conditions during the winter; respond to emergencies after hours; follow written and or oral instructions to complete projects; and operate a personal computer.
- Must be well groomed, wear issued uniform, as well as safety toe work shoes, no sneakers. Issued clothing must be kept clean and presentable.
- Must be flexible with your schedule and assignments and be able to change easily and efficiently from task to task.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. Must be on time and flexible with weekly shift changes.

This is a temporary position currently funded through 3/31/22. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date which may be prior to date indicated. Employees may be asked to work only 50%. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
