Duties Description "Under the direct supervision of a Health Program Administrator, the incumbent of this position supports the investigative process statewide related to Article 1, Title II, Section 18 of Public Health Law providing access to patient information. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Conduct telephone/in-person interviews of complainants, physicians, and other health care providers.
2. Draft templated correspondence to subjects of investigations demanding compliance with PHL Section 18
3. Obtain and review confidential data necessary to locate subjects of investigations.
4. Document all investigative actions using iTrak database.
5. Coordinate, prepare and participate in Hearings of the Medical Records Access Review Committee (MRARC) for denials of access to patient health information
6. Prepare and present cases before Investigation Committee of the BPMC
7. Prepare correspondence to complaints and physicians advising of disposition of case
8. Answer phone calls from public regarding their rights to access their protected health information
