Duties Description This Program Integrity supervisory position is in our data analytics unit and is a key component in the detection and prevention of fraud and abuse in our public benefits programs. This position would be responsible for supervising staff as well as analyzing Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) transaction data and Welfare Management System (WMS) information to identify recipients that are trafficking Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, have multiple Client Identification Numbers (CIN's), and/or committing eligibility fraud. This position is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to:
• The tracking and reporting of recipient SNAP trafficking cases referred to OTDA by United States Department of Agriculture/ Food and Nutrition Service (USDA/FNS);
• Supervising and working closely with staff as well as the local district fraud investigators to investigate claims of recipient SNAP trafficking;
• Working with a variety of state, local, and federal partners to ensure efficient and productive investigations in regard to recipient SNAP trafficking;
• Acting as an important liaison between state, local, and federal agencies in all activities involving investigating public assistance and SNAP fraud;
• Providing guidance and oversight to local district fraud units;
• Taking a proactive role in developing the curriculum and the training of fraud investigators throughout the state.
• Assisting A&QI in any relevant audits and/or agency priorities;
• Working on the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).
Additional Comments You must be a current New York State employee to apply for this position. A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title. This position requires less than 50% travel.
