Minimum Qualifications Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service’s Medical Assistance Specialist 1 eligible list #26-693; OR Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medical Assistance Specialist 1; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience with Medicaid Managed Care, and surveillance of Health Programs.
Duties Description This position is needed for the OHIP’s Bureau of Managed Care Certification and Surveillance. The incumbent will be employed in the Survey Unit in Albany Central Office, located at 99 Washington Avenue. The general hours are starting between 8amand 9am and completing the day between 4pm and 5pm. Parking is available through the Office of General Services based on seniority and availability. The position includes but is not limited to the daily activities related to ensuring Managed Care Organizations in New York State are compliant in accordance with regulations, statutes, and the Medicaid Contract.Team Member for Surveillance of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
Assist Metropolitan Area Regional Office (MARO) with Surveillance of MCOs
Assist in developing and reporting data to Bureau Management, CMS, OPQS and KPMG
Issue External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) Focus Surveys designed to test and confirm access to care.
Review Fair Hearing decisions and ensure timely compliance of the Managed Care Organizations.
Participate in ongoing educational needs, training, and guidance for staff.
Assist in the development of surveillance methodology, tools and protocol.
Communicate with Managed Care Organization staff and management regarding DOH policy changes, guidance, or other applicable correspondence.
Special Projects and other related duties as assigned.
Travel throughout New York State is required.
