Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c status as a Program Aide and interested in reassignment; OR New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c status in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law; OR reachable on the Program Aide eligible list.
Duties Description The Program Aide must be able to perform the following essential functions:
• Develop an understanding of Civil Service rules governing transactions i.e. appointments, transfers, leaves, separations etc.
• Review various types of transactions and supporting documentation submitted by program areas for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as a liaison between program area staff, personnel and payroll staff to effectuate necessary changes / corrections as needed.
• Communicate effectively via telephone, in writing and/or in person with various staff, managers and control agency personnel.
• Ensure transactions are submitted to appropriate folder locations for payroll processing.
• Ability to work under stringent deadlines.
• Must be able to use and navigate various computer systems and continuously update and maintain computer skills and technology.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Run and review various reports / queries and process updates and corrections as needed.
• Assist in the preparation, review, evaluation, and analysis of Transaction inventory and performance metrics reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of information, exercise good judgment.
