Minimum Qualifications Current New York State Employee with a minimum of one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Management Specialist 1, G-18, or in a title allocated to G-16 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible to transfer to Management Specialist Trainee 1 or Management Specialist Trainee 2 under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
The position may also be filled at the trainee level by appointment of a candidate reachable on the PATT or PCO list. If filled as a trainee, the selected candidate must successfully complete a two-year traineeship.
This position may be designated 55b/c and is subject to
verification of applicant eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the use of Structured Query Language tool (SQL Developer) and a
comprehensive knowledge of the Medicaid Program and the Medicaid Data Warehouse is preferred.
Duties Description The Management Specialist 1, within the Bureau of Business Intelligence, provides data analysis and technical support services to all units within OMIG. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Extraction, analysis, and reporting of data from the Medicaid Data Warehouse.
• Support audit and investigative initiatives through data analysis.
• Assist in the development of Audit recovery projects.
• Provide technical support to Audit and Investigations Staff.
• Meet with program experts and/or utilize OMIG/OHIP/DOH prior to developing various system match projects.
• Research Medicaid policy and regulations pertaining to a wide range of program areas.
• Perform analysis of provider activity.
