Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would have progressively responsible professional work experience managing office operations with excellent communication skills and proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 (HPA 1) will support the Bureau of Supplemental Food Program's (BSFP) leadership team in coordinating daily operations and support activities for approximately 90 BSFP Central Office staff. The incumbent will serve as the Bureau's liaison between program sections, Bureau Direction, and the Division of Nutrition Division Direction. The HPA 1 will work closely with a team of staff to oversee administrative operations, recruitment, position classifications and reclassifications, onboarding new hires, staff separations, probationary and performance reports, telecommuting requests and workplans, as well as inventory, office operations and logistics, internal controls and space utilization. This position will be responsible for drafting and maintaining written policies and procedures for all office responsibilities which includes continuous process review, streamlining and quality assurance. This position will utilize technology to improve office operations and facilitate efficiencies.
Additional Comments Permanent, Competitive, Full-time. Occasional travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required (5%).
