Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as an Associate Health Planner (G23) OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a (G21) and deemed eligible for transfer to Associate Health Planner (G23) under Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias and related stakeholder community. Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to think creatively and strategically. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Proficient in the use of standard office technology and basic Microsoft applications. The capability to travel within NYS as needed.

Duties Description Qualified and individually motivated individuals will report to the Director of the Bureau of Community Integration and Alzheimer’s Disease within the Division of Long-Term Care/OHIP. The position will lead projects related to the provision of services to some of New York’s most vulnerable residents impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. Lead/participate in creating meeting content for the NYS Coordinating Council for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementia. Initiate program integrity activities related to fiscal planning, and quality assurance. Additionally, the incumbent will provide supervision to professional positions with expertise in Alzheimer’s disease carrying out related functions; engage in responding to state and federal reporting requirements; and support the Bureau Director, including representation at meetings. This position also involves liaison roles with other key function areas in DLTC, OHIP and DOH. Other duties as assigned and directed by the Bureau Director and Division Director to develop and implement contract/program oversight and other initiatives to meet Unit, Bureau, and Division goals.
