Minimum Qualifications Current DOH employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive status as a Public Health Nutritionist 1 (G22); OR New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent competitive service in a title at or above a G20 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 70.4 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with maternal and child health nutrition, and general nutrition education. Experience with program development and evaluation, contract management, technical assistance, and training. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills, and experience with Word, other Microsoft Office programs, and e-mail. Experience with child and adult daycare programs, food production records and menus, and food safety and sanitation

Duties Description As a Public Health Nutritionist 1 in the MARO Division of Nutrition, Child and Adult Care Food Program you will be working in a team environment. You will be responsible for the evaluation and reporting of the quality of nutrition services, and general program compliance, in accord with Federal and State regulations. Also, the PHN 1 will be responsible for providing nutrition technical assistance, training to groups and onsite visits to sponsoring organizations

Additional Comments Transfer candidates may be asked to provide SSN to verify title transfer eligibility. Statewide travel, including to areas that may not be served by public transportation, will be required. Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as defined above must be maintained for continued employment as a Public Health Nutritionist 1.Salary plus $3,026 Downstate Adjustment
