Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description These positions are for Warren County and will report to the Warrensburg Sub-Office. Maintain written records of work performed and labor and materials used; report to the supervisor on the progress of projects under way. Assists trades workers in carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs as needed. Will be required to perform maintenance work at various locations including campgrounds, boat launch sites, maintenance centers, Regional Offices and State Forests. Duties may include, but are not limited to, mowing, cleaning, brush clearing, and landscaping and road maintenance and grading. Will be required to use various hand & power tools and motorized equipment including self-propelled and stationary machinery, needed to complete the job. May not be assigned to the same job location each day. Should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work day.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overnight travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 03/31/2023. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
