Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications for taking the open-competitive examination: must have a master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation, vocational counseling, rehabilitation counseling, educational guidance, school psychology, or school counseling.

Civil Service Exam: must take when given and be reachable on the Civil Service list for appointment from list.

Duties Description Responsible for providing counseling service to aid incarcerated individuals in making an effective adjustment to facility education programs. Working with incarcerated individuals and staff, develop individual education vocational programs and ensure that these programs are directed toward incarcerated inbividuals projected goals upon release. Responsible for follow-up and evaluation to determine the effectiveness of educational guidance services that are being provided. May also perform diagnostic tests and ineterpret test results.
