Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates reachable on the Civil Service Eligible list(s) will be canvassed. However, you may also apply if you are eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:
70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a grade 11 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.
70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: 1. One year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to a Salary Grade 11 or higher. 2. Must meet the Minimum qualifications of an Investigative Officer 1/Trainee. 3. A passing score on an Investigative Officer 1/Trainee exam. 4. Candidates must not have failed the most recent examination for this title.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As an Investigative Officer 1/Trainee in the Office of Special Investigations, the incumbent will:
• Investigate allegations of claimant UI fraud.
• Interview and obtain sworn testimony of employers, UI claimants and witnesses.
• Collect and analyze evidence for comprehensive written reports.
• Issue determinations on behalf of the Commissioner of Labor.
• Investigate leads on alleged Identity theft.
• Analyze data to determine whether claims are fraudulent.

Travel is required and will be discussed at the time of interview.
As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
