Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 1, G-6, and eligible for a lateral transfer, OR be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Individuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

All OMH Central Office employees who are vaccinated for COVID-19 must show proof of vaccination. Fully vaccinated means that two (2) or more weeks have elapsed since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen). Those not vaccinated must indicate this. Vaccination is required for many OMH positions but not all. Those not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination

Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, position in the Office of Financial Management, State Operations Finance Group, Capital District Patient Resource Office. The Capital District Patient Resource Office is responsible for documenting financial resources of mental health clients and/or their family members in order to determine reimbursement sources to pay for services and to determine eligibility for benefits.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Data entering WMS inquiry to billing functions
• Troubleshoot WMS error problems
• Maintain and review various office logs to assure timely application for Medicaid benefits
• Perform a variety of office support duties such as filing, photocopying, completion of billing forms, and data entry
• Answer phones and route calls/messages to appropriate staff
• Assist agents as needed.
• Process paperwork, sort mail, fax, and miscellaneous duties & projects as assigned.

Additional Comments This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.
