Minimum Qualifications "Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent, competitive status as an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, OR a New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive, service in a title at or above Grade 4, and deemed eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Public Candidates: Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service's Beginning Office Assistant eligible list#26-711 with a score of 100 or higher, OR qualified 55 b/c candidate. "

Duties Description The Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) is a regulatory program responsible for the oversight of clinical laboratories, blood banks, patient service centers and limited service laboratories located in or accepting specimens from NYS. An office assistant 1 is needed to maintain daily operations in the CLEP. The incumbent will receive and distribute mail, anwser phone calls and retrieve voicemail; perform initial data entry of incoming applications, digitize hard copy documents for archive and prepare hard copy mailings to regulated entities.

Additional Comments Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. Additionally, exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position; the selected candidate may be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment, and may undergo pre-employment and/or periodic health evaluations and receive specific immunizations.
