Permanent Qualifications: Candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in the state of New York.
Permanent Qualifications:
Nurse 1: Candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in the state of New York
Nurse 2: Candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State AND have one full year
of full-time post licensure clinical nursing experience.
Transfer Qualifications: Candidates must currently be a permanent Nurse 1 OR be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse 1 works under the supervision of a Nurse 2 or a Nurse Administrator 1. Professional nursing services are provided as appropriate to the individuals served by the program site.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Nursing interventions and documentation
• Completion of nursing procedures/tasks and nursing assessments
• Preparation of clinical and administrative reports
• Maintenance of infection control standards
• Provides clinical supervision to LPN’s, as well as nursing guidance to the Direct Support staff
• Ensures compliance with the Taconic DDSOO Policy/Procedures and regulatory requirements
• Provides nursing care oversight, charts health status, transcribes physicians’ orders accurately and ensures appropriate medication orders and follow-up appointments are communicated within the IRA
• Serves as a member of the inter-disciplinary team; attend team reviews and present information as needed

• Act as health liaison with medical consult
• Provide in-service health training to individuals, staff and family
• Perform other duties as assigned
