Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and five years of professional research experience in the appropriate field; or a Master’s Degree and four years of such experience; or a Doctorate in the appropriate field and two years of such experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in medical informatics or related healthcare data sciences field. Appropriate fields for experience include data management and/or analysis. At least three years of professional experience in healthcare research performing advanced data management. At least two years of experience developing, managing, and working with relational data models. Professional experience developing automated data processing routines.
Duties Description Specific responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
• Develop data models, warehouses and integrations which support large international research projects.
• Work with principal investigators and research teams on data management proposals and needs, including support around grant and protocol development.
• Review legacy data models and designs to support efficient analysis and transformation.
• Manage secure exchange, integration and transfer of healthcare records and data using standards-based technologies (e.g. Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)).
• Develop processes and procedures for automated and secure data sharing (e.g. National Institute of Mental Health Data Archive (NDA)) and exchange.
• Develop and manage production data workloads.
• Structure and support transforming data into business intelligence.
Additional Comments Background Investigation/Justice Center Review:
Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable. 2) Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee’s employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Additionally, prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
