Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

Duties Description Perform maintenance and rehabilitation work on infrastructure, including buildings, recreation facilities, bridges, dams, access roads, trails, boundary lines and wildlife management areas.

This position required a working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Will be required to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, lift up to 80 pounds, climb a ladder and work on heights on scaffolds and platforms, operate heavy equipment, large tractors, and mowers and ability to transport heavy equipment and haul gravel.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction. By checking the box requiring a CDL, I certify that this position requires a CDL to successfully perform the duties for this position. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 03/31/2023. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
