Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher and five years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications: Ten years of experience in conducting field investigations or investigations of professional or medical misconduct preliminary to civil litigation or criminal prosecution. This experience must include conducting interviews of witnesses and others; preparing detailed reports of investigative findings; and testifying at administrative or criminal proceedings. Three years of experience must have been at a supervisory level.

Duties Description The Investigator in the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) is responsible for the supervision and oversight of investigations of professional medical misconduct including oversight of operations and caseloads. Duties include: Manage the Investigative Specialist 2 (Professional Conduct) positions in the administrative and technical supervision of assigned investigations in the Metropolitan Area Regional Office (MARO) satellites; Supervise the assignment of investigations, ensure compliance with governing laws, regulations and policies, and implement the Professional Medical Conduct Manual of Investigative Operations; Perform quarterly case reviews of all investigations within region to ensure timely and accurate progress, as well as effective investigation strategies; Engage appropriate professional resources; Ensure program goals and productivity standards are met; Evaluate staff performance, case productivity, and utilization of staff resources; Ensure Statewide Investigations Information Management System is completely utilized throughout the investigation process and accurately portrays all investigative steps and timelines for each case; Implement appropriate training; Participate in statewide meetings and Investigation Committee meetings; May also participate in meetings with legal staff to prepare for the prosecution of cases and participate in providing supplementary information in negotiating consent agreements; Review all investigation reports for accuracy and completeness and make recommendations for improvements as appropriate; Provide backup for the Area Office Director (AOD) in representing OPMC and managing operations, programs, and policies in MARO; Assist the AOD in the implementation of policies and procedures, and in executive meetings in MARO; Participate in committees or workgroups as assigned; Provide written responses to AOD and Deputy Director of OPMC to inquiries related to executive correspondence, or the public affairs group related to cases under the supervision of the position.
