Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
One or more of the following:
• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.

Due to the need to travel within campuses, between campuses, and occasionally off-campus, candidates must possess a valid New York State Class D driver’s license or describe how they will meet this requirement

Physical Demands:
• The incumbent must have the ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach and work from elevated heights using ladders and other equipment.
• This position requires moderately heavy physical effort.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a higher education residential living environment

Duties Description Position Summary:
Campus Living invites you to apply to the Trades Generalist position. This role offers consistent, daytime work hours and the opportunity to work overtime. In choosing to work for UB’s Campus Living, you will find a dynamic environment that encourages professional growth.

Your duties include:
• Perform maintenance on various equipment, furniture, and fixtures
• Operate computerized HVAC controls and adjust student room heating
• Repair, troubleshoot and install faucets, toilets and pipes
• Repair and troubleshoot electrical equipment; replace light fixtures and thermostats as necessary
• Repair and install door closers, tiles, coat hooks, shelves, towel bars, etc.
• May supervise and assign tasks to other staff members
