Minimum Qualifications Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 Non-competitive: seven years of the experience* described for Equal Opportunity Specialist 1; OR one year of State service in an equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, minority business, employment compliance, human resources, or training position allocated at or above Grade 18.
Duties Description This position will be located within our newly created Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI).
Under the general direction of the Executive Equity Officer the Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity efforts for the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate the implementation of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity efforts.
• Plan, guide and advise the Executive Equity Officer on all justice, equity, diversity and inclusion matters.
• Assist in the development of an equity-focused, trauma-informed organizational change strategic plan.
• Analyze data and produce reports related to agency diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity programs.
• Research existing diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity strategies used in other government agencies and the private sector for evaluation and implementation at OASAS.
• Develop training for OASAS staff on equal opportunity issues as well as various JEDI initiatives such as trauma-informed organizational change and implicit-bias.
• Review and make recommendations on the development or revision of policies, practices and guidance as necessary.
• Coordinate with the various Divisions and Bureau within OASAS to plan, evaluate and advise on justice, diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity initiatives.
• Represent OASAS at various events on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
