Job Specifics

Duties Description Will be required to perform journey-level carpentry work and possess general knowledge of electrical/plumbing/masonry and building code regulations. Will be required to repair, renovate, and maintain buildings and other structures to include framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, water and sewer systems, hot water heaters, lift stations, and pumps. Will be required to abate fire and safety violations. Must have a basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation. Incumbent will be responsible for supervising subordinate staff. Musts be able to generate material lists for projects, and procure supplies and materials. Overtime and weekend availability may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Preference may be given to candidates with a Commercial Drivers License.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
