Job Specifics

Duties Description Duties-
Under the general direction of the Executive Equity Officer, the Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity efforts for the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the collection, review, and reporting of workforce and program data required under Executive Order 187 and other state equity mandates managed by the JEDI Office.
• Analyze and summarize data to identify trends and support statewide equity planning.
• Develop charts, visuals, and written reports that explain findings and support leadership decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint or Excel (beyond basic use), including experience with formulas, data organization, and reporting tools.
• Coordinate and document JEDI Office activities, including planning, communication, and deliverable tracking.
• Work across divisions to align workforce and program data with OASAS equity goals.
• Contribute input to the design or review of training materials, tools, and resources that promote inclusion and equitable practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external providers across harm reduction, prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
• Participate in meetings, workgroups, and community discussions that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
• Provide guidance or supervision to interns or temporary staff as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: seven years of the experience in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights; OR one year of State service in an equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, minority business, employment compliance, human resources, or training position allocated at or above Grade 18

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience analyzing workforce or program data to guide equity or policy work.
• Knowledge of Civil Service processes and the statewide provider system that supports OASAS services.
• Knowledge of best practices in diversity recruitment.
• Experience developing or reviewing materials that strengthen inclusion and staff engagement.
• Skill in organizing and presenting data using software such as Tableau or similar database platforms.
• Strong writing and organization skills with attention to clarity and accuracy.
