Job Specifics

Duties Description -Assist cleaning down fish tanks, feeding fish, and sample fish.
-Hand load Hatchery Stocking Trucks
-Participate on the Cayuga Lake Wild Lake Trout Egg Take
-Picking fish out of net and sorting the fish on a pontoon boat pulling a 300 foot gill net
-Landscape work along with facility and equipment maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class.

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be
able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to
operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State
driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Preferred: Experience working on and maintaining boats, working with and repairing gill nets

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 44 pounds.
Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal watercrafts at time of appointment.
