Job Specifics

Duties Description May function as a leader of small group of other lower level seasonal staff. Will perform required maintenance of grounds, roadways, waterways and trails. Must be able to cut grass and remove dead branches and debris as well as pick up litter. Will perform simple maintenance tasks such as fixing or replacing shelves, unclog toilets and sinks, replace faucets and washers, perform interior and exterior painting. Assist with other maintenance projects consistent with operations duties/projects. Will be required to clean restrooms and comfort stations. May need to assist on the Lake George Islands with docks and other maintenance. Must be even-tempered and capable of communicating with the public. Must have dependable transportation and be able to work assigned shifts. Must be punctual and report to work on time, be well-groomed and wear appropriate attire including safety toe work shoes. Must be able to communicate with others and accept direction.

Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be at least 16 years of age with preference given to candidate 18 years and older with a valid driver's license.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2027, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Transportation needs of this position require use of a state vehicle and adhering to the Department’s Vehicle Policy. You must have and maintain a valid driver’s license for this position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Overtime may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal watercrafts at time of appointment.
