Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for taking the promotional examination: you must be a qualified employee of the DOCCS and have had three-months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Teacher 4 or a Vocational Instructor 4 (Business and Distributive Education). In addition, you must have one of the following:
Either 1. Completed 12 graduate credit hours in education administration or school leadership in New York State Education Department (NYSED) approved program:*
OR 2. A current New York State Certification as a School Administrator, School Building Leader, School District Administrator, or School District Leader.
Qualifying Experience for Appointment from the Eligible List: After one year of service described in the Minimum Qualifications.
*Must submit a list of qualifying courses indicating 12 graduate credit hours in education administration or school leadership from a NYSED approved program.

Minimum qualifications for taking the open-competitive examination: You must have current certification as a School Administrator, School Building Leader, School District Administrator, or School District Leader issued by the New York State Education Department.

Duties Description Responsible for supervising an academic program at the elementary and/or secondary school level. Off-shift hours - two nights per week.
