Minimum Qualifications per exam announcement from 2018

On or before October 13, 2018 you must have five years of administrative experience coordinating an organized volunteer program in which you had primary responsibility for recruiting, training, orientation, and supervision of volunteers. One of these years of experience must have included administering a program which provided services primarily for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interviewing senior companions as prospective volunteers in programs for individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Arranging for their training and placement, as well as providing the seniors with supervision, information and referrals. Advertising the program, planning and conducting recruitment campaigns. Participating in advocacy, informational, and referral activities. Developing placement sites for seniors within the DDSO and Voluntary Service Providers. Promoting public relations, developing linkages with area organizations, agencies and resources. This position requires travel across the Western DDSO 7 county catchment area.
