Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have:
Both 1. Possession of a valid license and registration to practice dentistry in New York State.

And 2. Two years of full time post licensure dentistry experience.

Duties Description As a Dentist 2, you would have responsibility, usually under the advisory direction of a higher ranking dentist, for the regular examination, treatment and complete dental care of patients in a state facility. You may be the only dentist in a very small institution or facility.

Dentist do extractions, restorations, prosthetics, root canal therapy, prophylaxis, and limited periodontics; administer local anesthesia; examine and chart the dental condition of patients; take and interpret dental X-Rays; perform oral surgery; and treat diseases and infections. Where appropriate, the dentist may provide oral hygiene instruction.
