Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

This position requires a valid New York State Professional Engineer’s license with current registration.

Duties Description Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Supervising Regional permit review staff.
• Coordinating permit reviews with internal functional groups.
• Preparing correspondence in response to permit submittals.
• Ensuring adherence to state laws and Department practices with respect to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), traffic flow and roadway geometry
• Representing the Department at meetings with developers, contractors and local elected officials.
• Responsibilities may also include serving a role within the Incident command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide situations.
