Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications ARS/G14 - Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, Industrial Hygiene/Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health/Science, Public Health or a closely related field AND one year of relevant post-degree professional experience in an appropriate field. Thirty graduate hours leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for the required experience.
RS1/G18 - Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, Industrial Hygiene/Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health/Science, Public Health or a closely related field AND two years of post-degree relevant professional research experience in an appropriate field; or a master’s degree in one of the above fields and one year of professional post-degree research experience in an appropriate field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ARS/G14 - The preferred candidate will demonstrate professional-level, broad scope IH practice experience at hire through work experience and/or relevant professional certifications such as but not limited to ASP, GSP, CSP, or CIH. Preference will also be given to candidates demonstrating strong technical writing skills.
RS1/G18 - This scientist should have either academic or professional IH experience. Duties Description This Scientist will participate in all phases of industrial hygiene (IH) research, intervention, and field studies. They will work under the direction of senior scientists to contribute directly towards problem identification, study design, execution, analyses, and interpretation and presentation of results. The incumbent will identify workplace stressors, develop research proposals and workplace evaluation plans, collect exposure data including personal and bulk samples, evaluate control measures, and prepare written reports and recommendations.
Additional Comments Appointment level will be determined based on qualifications and skills of the selected candidate. Permanent, non-competitive, full-time. Occasional day trips and overnight travel will be required.
