Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a Public Safety Grants Representative 2 (previously Criminal Justice Program Representative 2) position and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or a reachable score on the Civil Service eligible list for this title.
Duties Description The Community Correction Representative 2 (CCR2) serves as DCJS’ lead in the implementation of Leandra’s Law, including management of New York’s Ignition Interlock Device (IID) Program. The CCR2 provides related technical assistance and informational support to probation departments and other organizations throughout the state as necessary; develops, prepares and presents trainings regarding the ignition interlock program to monitors, the judiciary and court staff, and other stakeholders; reviews and interprets rules, regulations, statute and proposed legislation related to the area of assignment; solicits, collates, maintains, and distributes information and statistics related to use of ignition interlock devices; and establishes collaborative relationships with qualified manufacturers, installation service providers, monitors, and related state and local agencies to advance the implementation of Leandra’s Law. The incumbent also promotes monitor, manufacturer, and installation/service center compliance with regulatory and other requirements through site visits and other quality assurance efforts; maintains, publishes and distributes up-to-date information regarding monitor directories, as well as qualified manufacturers and installation service centers; reviews documents related to manufacturer’s applications to provide ignition interlock devices/services in New York State, and manages the resulting contracts of qualified manufacturers; and supervises staff as necessary.
