Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications The candidate must be currently licensed and registered to practice as a registered professional nurse or licensed physician in New York State. It is preferred that the candidate have had three years of registered nursing experience or licensed physician experience in one or more of the following areas: Obstetrics/Gynecology, Geriatrics, Emergency Medicine, or Medical/Surgical.

Duties Description • Review medical records.

• Draft memorandum that outlines the medical treatment rendered, to determine if appropriate care was rendered.

• Research medical topics or other literature searches relevant to the possible action.

• Analyze and review claims for medical malpractice.

• Assist attorneys in the preparation and defense of medical malpractice cases.

• Assist attorneys and others on medical issues and on communication with medical staff and risk managers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments $3,026.00 in location pay will be added to the salary listed.
