Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience with program management and oversight of public health programs; strong organizational skills; excellent communication and writing skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight timeframes; and proficiency with MS Office (including Excel and PowerPoint).
Duties Description The HPA will provide administrative support to the programs in the Bureau of Child Health, specifically for the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Program and the Coordinating Care and Supporting Transition for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Program. Duties include: reviewing and entering data from program contractors into a database; programmatic oversight of contracts; review of annual budgets and required administrative forms; review of budget modification requests; providing yearly feedback reports to contractors; provide technical assistance and guidance to contractors to ensure compliance with program requirements; review of annual narrative reports and required data submissions; prepare routine programmatic communications for dissemination to the network of funded contractors; assist in the development of program policies, procedures and guidance documents; contribute to the development and management of relevant procurements; review data and reports submitted by contractors to ensure quality and accuracy; provide scheduling and planning supports; assist in development of presentations and report writing; management of electronic and paper files
