Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be on the Information Technology Specialist 2 eligible list OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.

Duties Description • Code and debug Java applications following defined specifications and standards with guidance from senior Java developers and architects.

· Conduct technical walkthroughs of proposed system changes.

· Conduct unit testing of code, following defined testing methodology.

· Collaborate with business analysts and end users to gather and refine requirements and functional design.

· Analyze functional requirements and develop technical requirements.

· Create design documents and other related system documentation.

· Develop final design with guidance from senior Java developers and architects.

· Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in a development environment.

· Conduct code reviews as assigned and recommend appropriate changes.

· Perform Quality Assurance testing of code changes as assigned.

Additional Comments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


· Demonstrated coursework with Object Oriented Programming (5 to 9 credit hours).

· Demonstrated coursework with Data Structures (5 to 9 credit hours).

· Demonstrated experience in the C programming language (3 months to less than 1 year).

· Demonstrated experience in the C++ programming language (3 months to less than 1 year).

· Demonstrated experience in the Java programming language (3 months to less than 1 year).
