Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Required qualifications for Project Attorney applicants are as follows:
• At least three (3) years of post-graduate civil litigation experience;
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills;
• Adept at self-managing a diverse, fast paced, and high-volume case load;
• Comfort in using laws and regulations in negotiations;
• Comfort with and proficiency using technology to complete legal work;
• Applicants must reside in New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State; and
• The Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States.

Preferred qualifications for Project Attorneys applicants are as follows:
• Prior relevant work experience with the mortgage market and an understanding of the loss mitgation options that are available to borrowers as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic;
• Prior relevant work experience enforcing applicable laws and regulations to protect consumer rights;
• Prior experience using Sales Force or other CRM platforms;
• Prior experience supervising, training, and/or mentoring other attorneys;
• Comfort with Excel and data analysis; and
• Fluency in other languages (e.g., Spanish, a Chinese dialect, etc.) in addition to English is a plus.
