Duties Description The Construction Specialist (CS1) would be in charge of construction project(s) in the field. This includes the review of plans and documentation in contracts and proposals, preparation of cost estimates. The CS1 coordinates the activities of contractors, sub-contractors, utilities, local governments, and other affected parties to ensure contract progress and scheduled completion and makes recommendations to engineering staff about revision of plans and specifications to meet field conditions or unexpected construction problems. In addition, the CS1 trains and supervises inspectors and seasonal construction inspectors assigned to construction inspection.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
