Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled trades-person which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.

Duties Description Carpentry:
• Will be required to preform work in all areas of carpentry including roofing, remodeling, new construction, and various types of building repairs to buildings on slabs, piers or complete foundations.
• This position will operate the carpenter shop. This shop supplies programs with picnic tables, outhouses and supports programs with a variety of projects. This shop has a configuration to mass produce projects as an assembly or in a kit form.
• Will be required to make material list, obtain quotes, set up job site, and lead the project to conclusion.
• This position will also assist others including plumbers and electricians in procurement of supplies and maintaining the stocking inventory.
Plumbing:
• This position requires experience in residential water and sewer systems. Our buildings have a mix of old and new materials which can pose a challenge. We make repairs on the pipes along with all the components in the system.
• This position will be involved with the service side of our water and sewer systems in our campgrounds. This is more of a commercial type application. The seasonal winterization and start up is a yearly process we go through. Our water systems are very diversified in designs and have a wide variety of the materials used for such infrastructure. Our sewer systems are not connected to municipalities. They are a variety of septic systems from basic leach fields to pressure main systems with lift stations.
Electrical:
• This position requires knowledge of basic electricity and the ability to make minor repairs and modifications.
Masonry:
• Some basic skills in this area is a plus.
Chipping Brush:
• This position could be involved in our ground’s maintenance including the cutting and processing of trees. This position starts by working with crews to chip brush and limbs. As need arises some candidates do get involved in cutting with a chainsaw after the proper training has been completed.
Heavy Equipment Operation:
• Candidates with an appropriate CDL may operate and transport heavy equipment.
Other:
• This position will be involved in many other areas of support and maintenance to our campgrounds and programs.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration through 3/31/2022. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to date listed. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview.
