Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Long Term Care Systems Specialist 2 (Health); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Long Term Care Systems Specialist 2 (Health).

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Medicaid and Medicare programs and Managed Care Organization (MCO) surveillance practices and activities. Strong organizational skills; effective written and oral communication skills; an ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight timeframes.

Duties Description The LTCSS2 will be responsible for developing and applying MCO survey tools for reviewing medical records, member notices, case notes and policies and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for training, organization of documentation, preparing written statement of deficiencies referencing specific model contract, regulatory and statutory citations and reviewing submitted corrective action plans for compliance. Engagement with internal departmental unit staff and external MLTC plan staff.

Additional Comments Within the Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight (DHPCO) this supervisory position is in the Bureau of Managed Long-Term Care (BMLTC) Surveillance unit. The LTCSS2 will report to the BMLTC Surveillance Unit Manager.
