BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the general guidance of the Director of Industry Development, Senior Director of Industry development and the Senior Director of Site Development, the Strategic Business Development (SBD) Intern will engage in a variety of functions including business marketing, real estate/site selection marketing, and policy / program development including the new POWER UP program to improve power access for crucial economic development sites.

WORK PERFORMED:

? Business Marketing: Preparation and updating of marketing collateral for key industry sectors. Work with content matter experts and the marketing department.

? Real estate / site selection marketing: Assist the Senior Director of Site Development with improvements to an inventory of properties, including data entry, marketing development, and coordination amongst site owners.

? Analysis: monitor current trends and provide analysis related to government actions and industry trends in the cleantech and renewably energy industry, and other industries.

? Data Management: compile, format, and present trends with economic development leads. Including work in Excel and Microsoft Dynamics.

? Assume a variety of Department-wide responsibilities as assigned, such as writing briefing memos, preparing complex spreadsheets, reviewing and improving processes.

Minimum Qualifications Education level required: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.

Knowledge Required:
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust readily to rapidly changing priorities and shifting deadlines. The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing is essential. Very careful attention to detail and accuracy are required, as well as excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, detail-oriented, and has a passion for international-facing work and/or cleantech and renewable energy.
