The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Are you interested in starting or advancing your career with New York State? Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 positions provide excellent opportunities for advancement and growth. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
Secure Care Treatment Aides care for patients with severe and persistent mental illness within an OMH secure intensive treatment unit or forensic facility. Additional duties include:
• Observe and monitor patients
• Apply therapeutic techniques to stabilize patients
• Record notes on patient behaviors
• Apply physical restrains to patients as ordered by physician
• Maintain a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 (SCTA 1) is an entry-level direct care position. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or similar equivalency such as a General Education Development (GED) Certification or higher degree.
In addition:
1. You must be able to communicate and follow oral and written instructions and directions in English in order to perform the duties of the position.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for ISU ($47,695), an Increase Hiring Rate ($6,144) and Geographic Pay Differential ($4,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($58,447) and Geographic Pay Differential ($4,000).
